Bellew vs Cleverly - Saturday night
Wish I'd got tickets for Everton game and this at the Liverpool Echo arena as well now.

Choosing between a Scouser and a Taff would normally be quite a tough decision, but I hope Cleverly smashes the bin-dipper in.

Which wins: Bellew's power or Cleverly's speed?

i agree about cleverly, very average boxer who looks like he no longer enjoys the game. unless he was under orders to fight that shit and not throw any right hands. it was a fucking bizarre performance, i just hope this weekend's bill delivers some proper match ups

Bollocks, the bloke dined out on Calzaghe under cards and got found out as soon as his best pal called it quits

Johnny Nelson could unify the belts in this division aged 47, as could B-Hop at 50. Cruiser is the Heavyweight division dumping ground & always has been except for rare exceptions like Evander

Re: Bellew vs Cleverly - Saturday night
Bellew only ever fought as a heavyweight at amateur level, which is of course the same weight as cruiser (it's super heavyweight that the big boys fight in) and you can even be as low as light heavy in the pro ranks and fight as a Heavy in the amateur ranks

I'd actually agree with that, Burns.

Big Enzo Maccarenelli would have beaten both of these chumps.

Re: Bellew vs Cleverly - Saturday night
Cleverly is never a cruiser, his whole career was ruined by Kovalev, who he shouldn’t have gone near, under any circumstances. The person who let him needs shooting (admittedly someone already tried that to no avail)

Bellew is pony, shame Haye won’t go back a weight, he’d earn the easiest paydays in the sport, I doubt anyone in the division would take him past 3 rounds. He’d dismantle Bellew in less than a minute.

Re: Bellew vs Cleverly - Saturday night
The whole division has been pony since Haye, Michael

Not saying Bellew is the next messiah in waiting just that he is probably the best of a bad bunch and should become a 2 weight world champion in `15

Cleverly - dead on the scales at 175 & too light for Cruiserweight Boxing. Resigned to a career of catchweight fights around 190 and will probably never fulfill the expectations people predicted of him

Was talking to a mate before the fight, and where we got to was points but the other way. If you look at their last ten fights each, neither is heavy on stoppages. Poor fight.

Bellew started out as a Heavy & has to take the weight off even at Cruiser

Currently the best 200 pounder in the world. Would destroy Huck & Hernandez is far too feather fisted

Re: Bellew vs Cleverly - Saturday night
'NATURAL HEAVYWEIGHT' ? Bellew is no where near that could you imagine the size difference of him V David Haye when he was at Cruiser

C`MON THE BOMBER"

Yeah bang on, what round was it he was stopped in again?

Re: Bellew vs Cleverly - Saturday night
Easy nights work for Bomber as I predicted earlier in the week

A natural Heavyweight against a bloke who started off at Welter is always going to be a cake walk at 14 stone 4

Think you lot should start taking my opinions of the sweet science as gospel and stop letting your hearts rule your heads

His plight was complicated by the bizarre advice he was getting in the corner from trainer Tim Lane. After the ninth round, when Algieri had already been down five times, Lane said to him, "We are exactly where we need to be."
